- Title
THE END IS NIGH: WILL TURNAROUND AGREEMENTS LEAD TO HOLLYWOOD'S FINANCIAL DEMISE?
- Authors
Fluger, Peri
- Abstract
The author comments on the effects of turnaround agreements in the film industry. He explains how the doctrine of laches and the doctrine of unconscionability may operate to help a party escape from a turnaround agreement. Contracts that are commonly used in the film industry include option contracts, producer agreements, and the like. The case Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. v. Warner Bros. Entertainment is discussed. The author suggests that like mortgages and securities, turnaround agreements should be registered.
