- Abstract
The article deals with the representation of tragic conditions of the mid-1990 in the British playwright Caryl Churchill's play "The Skriker" and her translation of Seneca's poem "Thyestes." Topics discussed include the concept of a posthuman tragedy, the impact of a Churchill play on her audience and the ontologies infused by Churchill in "The Skriker." The depiction of local economic stagnation and materiality in the play was also discussed.
