- Abstract
Yoko Chiba, a senior scientist at RIKEN in Japan, recently published her first article as a submitting corresponding author in Angewandte Chemie. Her research focuses on microbiology, metabolism, enzymes, kinetics, and amino acids. Chiba's interest in chemistry was sparked during a Gordon Research Conference she attended as a PhD student, and she chose chemistry as a career to reveal biological phenomena. She is passionate about identifying new metabolic pathways and hopes for a future where violence is eradicated from human society. Chiba's hobbies include classical ballet and fine arts, and she recharges by taking baths and getting a good night's sleep.
