- Abstract
This document is a comment on a study published in the Journal of Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology. The study examines the rate of pulmonary vein (PV) reconnection after a procedure called pulsed field ablation (PFA) in patients with arrhythmia recurrence. The study found that 58% of patients had at least one reconnected PV, with the right superior PVs being the most commonly reconnected vein. The authors suggest that suboptimal catheter-tissue contact and the thickness of the myocardium in certain areas may contribute to the reconnection. Further studies and technological development are needed to optimize energy delivery in these challenging areas.
