- Abstract
This article, titled "Editorial highlights," provides an overview of recent advances in developmental biology. The first study discussed the effects of maternal exposure to hyperbaric oxygen during preimplantation embryo development in mice. The study found that this exposure led to DNA damage, apoptosis, and abnormal lineage specification in the embryos. The second study focused on the expression of the Kdm7a gene during retinal development in Xenopus laevis embryos. Overexpression of this gene was found to affect the formation of certain retinal neuronal subtypes. The third study identified two previously unknown sources of mural cells, which are important for blood vessel development in zebrafish embryos. These findings contribute to our understanding of the complex dynamics of developmental biology.
