- Abstract
Lowering salt intake is a cornerstone strategy to optimize blood pressure (BP) control in chronic kidney disease (CKD) [1-2, 3], although recent studies have raised some concerns about the real benefit of a low salt diet on the renal prognosis in hypertensive and CKD patients [4-5, 6]. The averaged values of 24-h SBP, daytime BP, nighttime BP and office BP were 131 ± 16, 134 ± 15, 125 ± 18 and 152 ± 12 mmHg, respectively.
