- Title
Policy change without ethical analysis? Commentary on the publication of Smajdor.
- Authors
Popa, Elena; Zawiła-Niedźwiecki, Jakub; Zabdyr-Jamróz, Michał
- Abstract
Unlike Ber, Smajdor holds that WBGD should be widely available, not only for those involuntarily childless but also for those who would prefer to forego pregnancy. Smajdor argues that WBGD imposes I no i risk on the donor - including pregnancy-related health risks - while benefiting the user [[1], p. 121]. Later, Smajdor dismisses the argument of the life-saving character of organ donations for transplantations, noting that organs are used to "merely" improve a patient's quality of life or lifespan. Moreover, Smajdor's paper does not at all mention the issue of transgender pregnancies with little apparent awareness of the matter (at the beginning of the paper, she mentions "men", while later she mentions "male" pregnancies).
