- Abstract
This article focuses on the progress in Mathematical Analysis of Perception and Preference (MAPP) project as of February 1968. For several years the Marketing Science Institute (MSI) has been investigating the related fields of numerical taxonomy and psychometric scaling techniques. The article lists the two years' work of the MSI in market segmentation and the marketing implications of the computerized research. The MAPP package contains many computer programs, some borrowed from the life sciences and psychometrics, some original. Many programs are still being converted and refined.
