- Abstract
Trichoepithelioma is a benign tumor originating from hair follicles. Histopathological examination is crucial in the diagnosis as it can be confused with basal cell carcinoma clinically. A 23-year-old female patient presented to our clinic with complaints of a mass at the entrance of the left external auditory canal, decreased hearing, and occasional ear bleeding for five years, starting after pregnancy. Physical examination revealed a purple-gray mass completely covering the left external auditory meatus. The histopathological examination of the mass, which was surgically excised, was reported as trichoepithelioma. In this article, clinical findings, diagnosis, and surgical treatment process of a case of trichoepithelioma, which is rarely observed in the external auditory canal, were presented in light of current literature.
