- Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus is one of the most common systemic diseases that affect the world population, which compromises the immune system of people who suffer from it. At the oral level, this type of pathology presents several signs and symptoms, the same ones that, added to the deficit of the defense mechanisms of these patients and due to the alteration in the healing and healing processes, directly influence the success of the procedures. treatments aimed at treating pulpal and periapical pathologies. The objective of the research is to develop a multicriteria Neutrosophic method to determine the success or failure of endodontic treatments for Diabetes mellitus. A search for relevant information was carried out in the databases: Scielo, Elsevier, Pubmed and Scopus, including research under inclusion and exclusion criteria. Diabetes Mellitus is a pathology that at the oral level presents several signs and symptoms, among these are caries, xerostomia, ulcers, periodontal problems, which, added to the presence of inflammation in the tissues, contribute to the increase in pulpal and periapical pathologies. One of the most common complications in these patients is apical periodontitis, due to the reduction and alteration of the wound defense and healing processes, causing endodontic treatments to have a low success rate in patients with this condition. Diabetes mellitus considerably affects the healing process in cases of pulpal and periapical pathologies due to this condition directly influencing the failure of endodontic treatments.
