- Abstract
In order to analyze the contact mechanical characteristics of the point-grinding part surface, this paper adopted method of combining theory and simulation, established the fractal contact mechanics model, and implemented the analysis by using Matlab. Conclusions from the model show that when fractal dimension isn’t 3/2 and two cylinders are under internal contact, the load decreases with the surface texture direction increasing under the same contact length; when the surface direction angle decreases, the actual contact length and the crushing radial width of the two cylinders increase, and the contact stress decreases accordingly. The simulation results illustrated that the load decreases and the contact stress increases with the surface texture direction angle increasing when other variables are constant and the surface texture direction angle is between 45°and 90°. The conclusion reveals the influence of the surface texture direction on the contact mechanical characteristics, which is important to the surface integrity design of the point-grinding part.
