- Abstract
This contribution analyzes the success of Côte d'Ivoire against popular mistrust of the anti-COVID-19 vaccination as an act of crisis management. If this feat was ordered by the World Bank, it was achieved through an unorthodox communication approach. To avoid having to destroy unmanaged and obsolete stocks, the Ivorian government has had to engage the services of influencers and many other actors of the social web. This approach is analyzed here both as proof of the feverishness of crisis communication and a risk-taking vis-à-vis these instant media which sometimes break the codes established by the State. The analysis rethinks the relationship between crisis communication and the social web, arguing for crisis management in COVID-19 which is based on hybrid communication associating the traditional approach of instant media trained and experienced in the challenges of speaking out and government goals.
