- Abstract
Six solvents were used to extract Phellinus linteus. The contents of polyphenol and ergosterol in the extracts were determined. The in vitro antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory activity of each solvent extract were determined. The results showed that the ethanol extract had the highest polyphenol content of (3.03± 0.27) mg GAE/g DW, and the content of ergosterol in ethanol, acetone, and ethyl acetate was significantly higher than that in other solvent extracts. Furthermore, ethanol extract had the strongest DPPH, ABTS+ free radicals scavenging [IC50 was (23.37±0.83) μg/mL and (78.42±1.28) μg/mL, respectively], ferric reducing antioxidant power ([ 50.05±1.90) mmol/g], and α-glucosidase inhibitory activity [IC50 was (13.95±0.79) μg/mL]. Correlation analysis showed that there were significant correlations between polyphenol content and ABTS+ free radical, as well as FRAP and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities of Phellinus linteus (p<0.05), and phenolic acids that interact synergistically with each other are potentially functional substances.
