- Abstract
Several educational assessment studies have been conducted to further knowledge about the influence of the factors in the school context that impact the academic performance of students. The application of international and national standardized tests such as TALIS and ENLACE-Basic Level has made possible the collection of relevant information in the context in which students and teachers live and relate. The research followed a quantitative approach. This study aims to identify the relationships between the indicators of school leadership and school climate on the TALIS survey and students' performance on the ENLACE-Basic Level test and the state tests of Colima, Mexico. Results showed that school principals who dedicate more than 90 percent of their time to school leadership, provide advice to teachers, and involve the various school stakeholders (including students) when making decisions positively impact the academic performance of the learners. Additionally, teachers who collaborate with educators from other schools, who maintain collaboration within the school, and aspire to develop professionally influence students to achieve higher academic scores.
