- Abstract
The article examines how direct TGF-beta signaling to CD4 T cells is relevant for the formation of influenza-specific T follicular helper (Tfh) cells, germinal center reactions, and development of isotype-switched, flu-specific antibody responses. Topics discussed include the importance of Tfh cells in the initiation and maintenance of germinal center reactions and high affinity, isotype-switched antibody responses and the suppression of high affinity IL-2 receptor alpha chain expression.
