- Abstract
The article discusses compliance of midwives to the Health and Safety (Sharps Instruments in Healthcare) Regulations 2013 being implemented by the British Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Topics explored include the goal of the HSE to prevent injuries associated with medical sharps use, the safety procedures for utilization and disposal of sharp instruments, and the responsibility of midwives to report sharps injury incidents at work.
