- Title
Organization Development Consulting in Sub-Saharan Africa: The Little Things That Make a Big Difference.
- Authors
Kudonoo, Enyonam C.
- Abstract
This paper examines organization development (OD) in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and how little factors make a big difference in successful consulting. Ideas from case studies and experiences of consultants operating in the region are used to develop a framework for critical success factors along with a quick reference guide on successful OD consulting. The paper suggests that local cultures should be included in the design and implementation of change programs; that the opinion of informal leaders as well as other resources, including employees, should be considered in order to facilitate effective involvement of all key stakeholders. Potential areas for future research also are discussed.
