- Abstract
The objective of this work was to study the phytoavailable boron retention capacity by functional membranes, based in N-methyl-D-glucamine, from aqueous extracts of soil samples using the hot water method. For that, membranes with boron retention capacity were constructed via interpenetrating polymer networks and evaluated at different chemical environment (boric acid solutions at different values of pH: 5.0, 7.0 and 9.0 and aqueous extracts by hot water method from three soils with different acidity). It was concluded that retention capacity of membranes is function of groups -OH added and is affected strongly by pH, presence of Al2+ and weakly by ionic species. Results suggest that these materials can be used potentially for correlation of boron contents, of crops in ideal field conditions, with analytical response obtained at laboratory level.
