- Abstract
The SAPHO (synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, osteitis) syndrome is a rare, chronic, autoinflammatory, debilitating disease.[1] The average age of onset is between 30 and 40 years. The etiology is multifactorial, including environmental, genetic, immunological, or infectious causes like Propionibacterium acnes.[2] SAPHO syndrome can be associated with other neutrophilic disorders.[2] Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), or acne inversa, is a chronic, inflammatory, recurrent, debilitating skin disease of the hair follicle. Five months after the surgery, the patient has no lesions on the armpit (Figure 2B-D) with a notable improvement of SAPHO syndrome and HS disease (Figure 1B-D).
