- Abstract
This article seeks to identify the main barriers that prevent pregnant Wayuu indigenous women linked to the ESE of the municipality of Uribia, Hospital Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro, from access to their prenatal controls before the first twelve weeks of gestation, as regulated by legislation. This is a descriptive study with a transversal qualitative approach, which aims to contribute to a better management of difficulties faced by these pregnant indigenous women. To this effect, it is important to identify the main aspects that prevent access to their prenatal controls, as well as possible risk factors. In addition, the study allows recognizing the quality of services provided to these communities, which helps to identify and evidence aspects for their possible solutions.
