- Abstract
The author relates on his experiences of applying for a teaching job to the Peel District School Board in Ontario after finishing his course French as a Second Language (FSL). He recalls his conversation with a principal and a vice-principal about a decision to declare one teaching staff as excess due to a decreased number of enrollees projected, which led to his departure from the school. He reflects on his teaching career and his relationships with students and homeroom class at his second school.
