- Abstract
1917 was a turbulent year for Russia. Successive events in the country led to the collapse of the tsarist regime. The administration was taken over by a provisional government, but its actions did not satisfy the revolutionary organizations. Especially, the Bolshevik Party did not compromise with the government and acted against it. Moreover, accusing other parties on cooperating with the government they attempted riot in July, but failed. It is generally focused on October Revolution in studies about the activities of the Bolsheviks in Turkey. This is because they succeeded in the October revolution. But they are known to have attempted riot and wanted to overthrow the government even before October. However, it was identified that this issue did not take part in the studies. Therefore, in this study Bolsheviks' riot attempt in July was examined and focused on how they were prepared and how they organized their supporters. During the study, the role of the Bolsheviks in the riot was scrutinized in the light of the official and unofficial press of the period, the first period of Soviet resources and the recent researches.
