- Abstract
This article focuses on the regulation of union elections by the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA), also known as the Landrum-Griffin act, and how it impacted the trade union the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) between 1961 and 1964. The author discusses the history of labor unions in the U.S., explores labor leader Jerry Wurf's campaign for the AFSCME presidency, and examines the administration of AFSCME president Arnold Zander.
