- Abstract
The article offers information on the bilateral trade disputes between the U.S. and China, discussing the proposed tariffs on imports announced by both the countries. Topics discussed include the investigation by the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Robert Lighthizer into intellectual property and technology transfer policies of China; the tariff put by China on agriculture, automobile and aircraft exports from the U.S.; and a statement by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) regarding the implementation of the tariffs. Also presented are the views of China's Vice Minister of Finance Zhu Guangyao, and the views of John Frisbie, the president of U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC).
