- Abstract
We developed a gearbox test rig having non-torque loading capacity and applicable to up to 75 kW (100 hp) class gearboxes. The test rig is electrical back-to-back type with an input motor and output dynamometer, which control rotational speed and torque of gearboxes. Five hydraulic cylinders are used to apply the 5 degrees of freedom static and dynamic non-torque loads: The axial loading capacity is 300 kN, and the vertical and lateral loading capacities are 50 kN, respectively. The test rig is applicable to various drive train systems by using some modular components, and durability and performance tests are all possible. The test rig can faithfully reproduce the operating conditions required for gearbox test, including design complex loads and rotational speed; thus, it can be used for the gearbox test of various fields.
