The article offers information on impact of hyperthyroidism, endocrine disorder on biochemical markers of bone metabolism such as serum osteocalcin (OSC,) alkaline phosphatase (ALP,) and calcium and phosphorus levels. It mentions analysis of thyroid and biochemical markers of bone metabolism in hyperthyroidism patients using Shapiro-Wilk test; and also mentions that OSC serves as a better biomarker than the ALP in the risk assessment of bone loss in newly diagnosed hyperthyroidism patients.
