The harmony of facial features, which defines the human particular physiognomy, depends on the morphological configuration of the splachnocranium and of soft parts which cover it, on visibility degree, form and position of the teeth on the arcade, especially of the frontal teeth. The color of the teguments, facial prominences and depressions, play of shadows contribute to the pleasant of less pleasant facial expression. Under the influence of contraction of muscle tissue (orofacial muscle tissue) and of muscles used during exercising the functions of the stomatognathic system (mastication, phonation, mimics, deglutition), the physiognomy continuously changes in order to express joy, sadness, anger, indifference.
