Megachile timberlakei Cockerell (Hymenoptera: Megachilidae): Yet another adventive bee species to the Gala'pagos Archipelago.
- Abstract
The article presents information on the bee species called Megachile timberlakei Cockerell found in Galápagos Archipelago. It informs that both sexes of M. timberlakei were obtained from Alternanthera echinocephala (Amaranthaceae), Cordia lutea (Boraginaceae) and Mentzelia aspera flowers of Galápagos. The male and female specimens in this island were found identical to specimens of M. timberlakei from Hawaii including the male genitalia.
