- Abstract
This document is a summary of a special issue of the journal Water titled "Sources, Risks, and Remediation Technologies of Pollutants in Aquatic Environments." The special issue contains 12 contributions, including original articles, reviews, and a communication, that cover a range of topics related to water pollution and control. The articles discuss various pollutants, such as organophosphate esters, phenolic compounds, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and mercury, and their impacts on different water sources, including groundwater, irrigation water, wastewater, drinking water, and seawater. The research also explores innovative technologies for pollution control and remediation, such as alkaline prehydrolysis, sonochemical catalysis, and photocatalysis. The findings highlight the importance of understanding pollutant sources, their potential risks, and developing sustainable solutions for maintaining the health of aquatic ecosystems and human populations.
