- Abstract
The article discusses the life and work of the late Mahatma Gandhi, a former lawyer and preeminent leader of the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India. Information about his contemporaries and rivals Lord Mountbatten, Jawaharlal Nehru and Muhammad Ali Jinnah, is provided. An overview on his participation and contribution in various protests, is mentioned. It also announces his 70 years of independence and 150th birthday.
