- Abstract
This study examined the expression of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigens in the KB human carcinoma cell line. MHC class I antigens (HLA-ABC and β2-microglobulin) were constitutively expressed but not significantly enhanced by interferon-γ (IFN-γ). By contrast, MHC class II antigens were absent or expressed minimally on unstimulated KB cells, but DR and DP were significantly stimulated in a non-coordinated pattern (HLA-DR> -DP> -DQ) by IFN-γ.
