- Title
BUDDHISM AND PSYCHOTHERAPY Opening up an Integral Dialogue.
- Authors
Munn, Richard
- Abstract
Following Dr. Roger Walsh's call to the integral community to address potential pitfalls or blindspots in human development, I analyze an area Walsh mentions repeatedly-the relationship between spiritual and psychological inquiry within an integral context. I draw from two prominent voices within psychotherapy and Buddhism, those of Mark Epstein and Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, in order to give an experiential view of the relationship between these two disciplines. I conclude that the most useful frame to hold this dialogue is Integral Theory's articulation of structure-stages, state-stages, and shadow.
