Title
Gharials under grave threat.
Abstract
The article reports on the reducing population of endangered species like gharials or gangeticus gavialis from the National Chambal Sanctuary of India. As stated, several international veterinarians and crocodile experts with scientists of the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) are examining the reduced levels of heavy metals like lead and cadmium from the dead bodies of gharials which eventually lessened their ability to fight pathogens and thereby make them susceptible to infections.
