- Abstract
The article focuses in chipping in zirconia-based dental prostheses and presents a case study of a patient with severe wear and noncarious cervical lesions requiring all-ceramic restorations. It states in a follow-up appointment the patient showed no structural damage. It explains the sintering process in metal-ceramic and ceramic-ceramic systems and mentions if there is a mismatch between the coefficient of thermal expansion of the infrastructure and the veneering porcelain, fracture can occur.
