- Abstract
The article presents news related to the biotechnology industries. The French Government has decided to import human embryonic stem cells into the country for research purposes. Genencor plans to open its office in Moscow, reflecting its global expansion. The Brazilian Senate has amended and approved the Biosafety Bill, which regulates biotech products such as genetically modified crops, transgenic animals and human embryonic stem cells. Protein Design Labs Inc. and big pharma Roche announced a deal to develop and commercialize Zenapax for asthma.
