- Abstract
The article presents a study on the use of local bacterial isolates to improve cysteine production. The researchers isolated bacteria from various natural resources including sewage, honey, milk, soil and water, after which several fermentation media were used to improve the production of cysteine. They found that amino acids are very important for the metabolic activities of human beings to guarantee that the body properly performs its functions. They concluded that the use of modified fermentation media or other biotechnological procedures can further improve strain MM5 for the over-production of cysteine.
