- Abstract
The article discusses a study which determines the definitive cause of waterfowls death at Melbourne Water's Western Treatment Plant in Werribee, Victoria. It reveals that the investigations has not clearly defined the cause of death but has considered three potential causes for the rapid onset of death including avian botulism, poisoning from toxic algae, and drowning. It mentions that drowning was responsible for some of the deaths combined with an initial die-off caused by toxic algae.
