- Abstract
Drying is a humidity or liquid removal process from a material by evaporation process. This technique is widely used in food drying applications. In this process, the heat for evaporation is transferred to the material to be dried. In drying, there are already developed drying systems and some are being developed. The majors arecylindric dryers, tray dryers, conveyor-belt dryers, tunnel dryers, spray dryers, freeze dryer, and fluidized bed dryers. In this study, a fluidized bed dryer was designed and an. experiment for corn drying has been performed in laboratory conditions. According to the experimental result, the fluidized bed dryers has been quite effective system for corn drying applications at high initial humidity contents.
