- Abstract
The article offers information on Hans Hass. He was recognized not only for his pioneering developments in free-diving and underwater photography but as one of the first who shared his experiences under water. He started lecturing in 1937 at the age of 18 in Europe and in the U.S., especially in the 1940s. After the war in 1945, he continued giving lectures for U.S. citizens but not inside the country, with a series of lectures titled "Men and Sharks," for U.S. soldiers and officers. The lectures were presented by the Special Service Office (SSO) of the Rainbow Division, in which Hass was under.
