- Title
THE INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD AND JUVENILE JUSTICE.
- Authors
FRANK, JACQUELINE
- Abstract
The article discusses the issue of juvenile criminal law in the U.S. and how it reflects the country's attitude towards crime, punishment, and rehabilitation. It argues that the U.S. has focused too heavily on punishment, leading to racial and ethnic divides, and falling behind other countries in rehabilitating juvenile offenders. It suggests that the U.S. should consider alternatives to incarceration, such as early diversion programs, and prevent the transfer of juveniles to adult courts.
