- Abstract
This article explores the role of television in spreading the game of basketball in the U.S. South with a focus on the work of independent TV sports producer, Castleman DeTolley Chesley for the development and implementation of Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) broadcasts. Topics covered include how Chesley developed the idea for ACC broadcasts, success of the sports productions of Chesley and interviews with people involved in the productions of ACC basketball and the sponsorship of broadcasts.
