The article discusses the vital role of antifungal agent echinocandins in treating invasive candidiasis (IC), a fungal disease. Studies found that echinocandins are more effective and safe in the treatment of IC where 70 to 75% of patients were cured than other treatments, including amphotericin B therapy and fluconazole. Echinocandins are also capable to clear the bloodstream of candida and isolate areas that are susceptible to azole.
