The article discusses the representation of Jesus Christ in 19th century Jewish literature by the poet Emma Lazarus. Topics addressed include details about various poems of Lazarus, particularly in their engagement with Jesus Christ, the enlistment of Lazarus' own polemic in defense of Jewish identity in history, and the representation of Zionist commitments in her works.
