PHILLIPS, PATRICK C.
- Abstract
The author comments on the article "The maintenance of genetic variability by mutation in a polygenic character with linked loci," by Russell Lande. A brief background on how Lande developed his theory of the selection response and genetic variation maintenance for both single traits is given. He considers Lande's concern to determine how genetic variation is maintained within natural populations. He notes Lande's conclusion that mutation is a potent force in genetic variation.
