- Abstract
The article presents a study which discusses the newly developed continuous desiliconization process equipped with a mechanical stirrer in the hot metal runner of a blast furnace. Results of the study for the desiliconization process were determined from small-scale experiments, plant tests, and commercial operations. The study has observed the importance of stirring intensity for the process performance of mechanical stirring method and the improved slag-metal residence time.
