- Authors
Porter, Tracie R.
- Abstract
The article discusses what the author refers to as a quagmire of mortgage short sale transactions (MSSTs) under America's homeownership tax policy as of 2015, and it mentions the U.S. Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act, as well as information about the millions of people in the U.S. who have mortgage loan balances that are greater than their property values (underwater property). American foreclosures, a 2007 financial crisis, and moneylenders' efforts to avoid liability are assessed.
