- Abstract
Nine compounds were isolated from the 95% ethanol extract of the aerial parts of Alus nepalensis D. Don for the first time. On the basis of spectral data or by comparison with authentic samples, they were identified as acetyloleanolic acid (1), oleanolic acid (2), lupeol (3), β-sitosterol (4), β-amyrin (5), euscaphic acid (6), campotothecin (7), β-daucosterol (8), and chlorogenic acid (9), respectively. A. nepalensis is the eleventh plant resource of campotothecin. The contents of campotothecin in dried leaves and stems are 923, and 192 µg/g, respectively.
