- Abstract
The article focuses on several issues in connection to the development of a Physician Assistant Program in Manitoba. It emphasizes on the demand for more primary health care practitioners of all types in Manitoba. Physician Assistants (PA) were introduced to patients when the faculty of medicine at the University of Manitoba entered into an agreement with the Canadian Forces. A faculty committee was formed to study the feasibility of a freestanding PA (civilian) training program.
