- Authors
Nadeau, Carolyn A.
- Abstract
The article presents a critique of the elite in the food episodes in Barataria and "Ricote" in "Don Quixote II," by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. It exhibits social discrimination in all levels of aristocracy in Spain. It shows the elegance of the character Sancho, his relationship with food, his table manners and etiquette. Moreover, it describes how Cervantes' treatment of Sancho's dining scenes give readers some serious food for thought.
