Dyspepsia and non-invasive testing for Helicobacter pylori.
- Authors
Smith, Graeme D.
- Abstract
The article offers information on causes, features, and diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). It discusses the empirical evidence for testing of dyspeptic symptoms, focusing on non-invasive testing for H. pylori. H. pylori is associated with a number of upper gastrointestinal conditions, which can be detected through non-invasive testing including serology, faecal antigen and urea breath tests. The article also mentions the management of medications prior to H. pylori testing.
